Segwit seems to be the more popular solution in terms of nodes, forums, prominent speakers and exchange/wallet providers. If there is a hard fork due to BU activating, and provided Core is still reasonably functional, I think investors will have more reason to be excited about Segwit's future potential over BU's, mainly because of the prospect for microtransactions. I think the broader community and investors will select where they see the most opportunity and then hashing power will inevitably follow.
