Title says it all, I am an accredited investor and have some portion of my wealth in Angel investment of several startup companies. I see these investments as highly speculative and therefore am somewhat hesitant to account them as a portion of my net worth. Especially since the nature of Angel / Venture investment is a sort of all of nothing type deal. The investment isn't really worth the money i have invested in it, it's either worth much much more or nothing at all and only time will tell. Thus I don't think I should count it as a portion of my net worth. Could use some input on this from an accountant or someone whose in a similar situation.. Thanks!
